Introduction

Multinational companies Coca Cola and Facebook- known for their global domination, capitalistic practices and unprecedented campaign budgets come together in 2012, the UN’s International Year of Co-operatives to celebrate a different way of doing business, one focused on “human need not human greed,”.
This landmark project will set an example to the world and big businesses that consumer brands can tackle the world’s most devastating, human injustices.
They have chosen one of the most complex, political and emotional conflicts- The Palestinian/ Israeli conflict – to put their powerful names behind a new regional head quarters and join forces to bridge one of the most long-standing fragmented relationships in history.

The Bridge

The Crater & Proposed Site

The environment was modeled on an actual bombed out crater that was left by an Israeli air strike in Palestine.

The Elevator & Lift Shaft

Two glass lift shafts pierce through the building providing access to all floors and the meeting place in the base of the crater.

Multi-media Meeting Table

The multi-media meeting table incorporates multi-touch technology and is connected to secure high speed broadband via satellite. When senior management from each company want to get out of the board room, they can meet for lunch and discuss regional strategy in an informational and pleasant setting by the water.

Massive Sun Controlled Windows

Sun controlled windows at each end of the office spaces provide light and spectacular views.

The Bridge & Communal Areas

On top of the bridge canvas awnings shade strip seating which provides a place for employees from both groups, as well as neighboring Israelis and Palestinians from the local area to socialise. The strip seating takes its design reference from wind patterns found in the sand.
